NUTS ABOUT YOU!!!!!

Hey! Been quite sometime since I posted..... I was so held up with some prioritized personal issues & chores..... because of which, at the end of the day, only thing that came to my mind was my bed & a sound sleep...... zzzzzzzzzz............ knowing very well that the day next would be the same too.....

Finally today there was a breather..... & I managed to attempt few challenges which were entered for today in my diary..... Hence thought of working on few at least..... So here it is..... :)

Hey! Today is my sis in-law's birthday..... Hence I attempted this pocket card for her..... I wanted to try it & I had an occasion too..... So went ahead with it..... I was totally inspired by the challenge from the Pink Elephant & the tutorial from Split Coasters..... WOW! I loved it.....

Light Blue CS for the base....
Black DP on the flap....
Kraft DP on the area below flap & on the message insert..... (both from my new stash)
Digi image from the Cards for Men, that I won long back.... (from Heather over at Fresh Brewed Designs in exchange for $10 certificate)
Colored the cute girl & the cake with Faber Castell Water color pencils..... Not that neat.... I am not happy with her face.... It kinda got smudged..... :(
Punched out the blossoms from the msg insert & used them on the flap....
Hand Written sentiment...... for my Sis in-law..... God Bless! & Enjoy Your Day!!!! :)

And on the outside I stamped Birthday Wishes & For You, from my new stash..... :)

Below is the TOFA (Token of Appreciation) I received from Michelle from The Pink Paper Paradise, who is a genius herself..... I love her tutorials which help me learn something new & awesome.... each time..... And experts like her appreciating your work, means a lot & motivates me to craft better..... Hey! I am here with something different....... Well... It is a door Hanger.... Different for me because this is my first attempt..... I loved it & wanna make more.... May be one for every door ;) LOL!!!! But yes wanna make a couple more.... Awesome 'for gift' item......

Modus Operandi......

Green CS for the base & layered panels......
Yellow for the layered panels & blossoms....
Plain side of a green DP for blossoms.....
Glitter pen for the sentiment on the round layer..... It is not that clear in the picture though..... (This is where Sentiments go on Paper.....)
Punched flowers & used my thermocol balls halved for the accents on the flowers....
The golden 3-D liner for the accent on the circled layer......
Border Punch on the sides of the hanger part.....

FRIENDS FOREVER!!!!

Hey!!! Back with the next as promised in my prior..... :) Hmm..... This one yes! as the title indicates.... It is for us friends... who are friends forever.... ;) Women sometimes find it difficult to say so.... because there are times when it tends to get tedious & slips out of your hands withing a fraction of a second.... I even believe that women are nuts, many a times..... ;) Even with all these fickleness, as I have heard, seen & still believe that Yes! Women can remain friends forever..... :)

Modus Operandi :)

Used CS in dark pink for the base & those several layers.....
Dark Blue CS for the layered panel.....
4 different DPs........ ( had a hard time putting these 3/4" x 3/4" layers in place on a 4" x 4" card:-P)
Silk thread for a dimension......
Friends Stamp from Kolette Hall..... Loved the look of the stamp.... But the 'friends' kinda smudged :(
Blossoms from Itsy Bitsy.....
Used the metal dot adhesive on the center of the bigger flower.....

*** After everything was ready, realized that the recipe included hand stitching, which was a miss on my project.... In order to fulfill that, I had to undo the first layer & re-do a stitching with a black thread..... :) Phew!!!!! Now I was completely done & ready with the project...

It seems like the internet is crazy or rather the sites.... When I try to enter my project, it gives me a message that the challenge site is for sale & asks me if I wanted to buy them.... Not one but almost all of them.... Ya! Sure.....Why Not? :0

Hey!!!! Had some quickies again...... Have 2 but in two separate posts, of course..... The one I would be posting here... was interesting because it had to do with LOVE!!!! There was this Hindi song, very popular in the 90's, which I kept humming till I finished this card.... The song goes "ILU ILU Kya Hai? Yeh ILU ILU..... ILU ka matlab I Love You" :)

ETHNIC INDIA!!!!!!

नमस्ते ! नमस्ते ! Hello & Namasthe!!!! So here I am to post my June ATCs..... Oh! I enjoyed indulging in them thoroughly...... Why will I not???? It was The Ethnic India after all!!!! Every time I work on the theme, it leads me to diversities.... But when put together makes me proud.... Proud that I was able to attempt something like that.....

As always, if I sat 'to write', there is no stopping me.... ;) So lemme continue with the ATC postings..... Well the theme for the month of June was Ethnic India.... And I thank Kishley with all my heart for putting forth this theme for us to work on & enjoy ourselves in the process..... So below are my takes on the theme......


Firstly Colors Of India......

The very first thought that gushed in my mind, as I read the theme was 'Mehendi'..... The lovely scent of henna & the intricate designs applied haunted me day & night... I finally thought Yes! however I proceed further, I would surely make this a part of my project....

And as the days & the projects rolled out, mehendi intrigued my projects.... Quite unknowingly, it became a very integral part of my ATCs for the month of June..... :)

I went hunting for the mehendi blocks on the streets of Bangalore... Finally found some at Commercial Street..... Bless the woman who had it 'for me'..... :) I bought few wooden blocks & cones from her.... I got some glass pieces too as that makes a strong existence in most of the handmade products in India.....

I later sat to put them all together.... I drew a peacock, colored & hand cut it too... SO that was about the Colors of India on my ATC..... :)

And Secondly An Ethnic Pooja Room

After the completion of the first project, my mind was always busy working out the next one.... Many thoughts bloomed & withered :( ..... As I did my pooja (prayers) one fine day, even before I could complete it, the thought struck me, 'what more could be ethnic than our place of worship'..... And with that haunting me, just went with the flow to build this miniature pooja room on my CS & papers.....

With mehendi already having taken its Lion share in my thoughts, & the pooja room in mind, gave birth to the beauty of Rangoli all over India.... With uniqueness in its designs pertaining to the Northern & Southern parts of the country, I preferred to stick to my southern origin..... Because that was when, "now my hubby, then the guy-next-door", watched me & appreciated my interests in art.....

Without losing time, I sat again, now with both mehendi & rangoli ruling my thoughts..... & poor me giving them the scope required, to take their form & shape beautifully..... :) The pooja room at my home resembles this piece to certain extent...but it adorns more bling in the form of brass embellishments.........

Used my glitter pens, CSs, mehendi cone & a piece of glitter paper....

Not to forget, do make a visit to the space that adorns all the awesome & mind blowing works made by other talented fellow crafters on Ethnic India..... So hurry to Crazy About ATCs..... ;)

MY FIRST SHIPMENT!!!!

Ha! Finally I am posting about that first shipment that I promised I would post about.... I am so happy..... You would c it for yourself..... Now that gears up my confidence further to get more & more & create more 'n' more..... :)

So here are the sneak peeks...... ;)

This is the entire shipment....... I was so happy to see them all, feel them all..... WOW!!!! I still feel HIGH!!!!! ;)

CSs in two colors comprising of 25 sheets.....
Metal Dots & Accents (heart & circles)....
Flower Brads.....
2 packs of charms....
Ribbons in 2 colors....
Chip Board Alphabets....

Oh! Yes.. That was the look of the package that made my day.... I loved the surprise..... It felt good..... One of those unforgettable moments in the ocean of loving memories..... :)

Those tempting rubber stamps in pink... Reminded me of those yummy bubble gums I chewed all my childhood & adolescence..... Surely made me drool...... :-p And the papers are 125 in the total.... :0

Very luscious!!!! Aren't they???? My greedy part tempted me to use them all at the same time... Kinda ALL in One! And the other good part totally decided & refused to run the scissors on them... EVER!

I loved those lace CSs...... Loved the colors & the feel.... For sure, there is a lot of difference b'n Indian DPs & these.... Difference is mostly in the thickness, print & quality......

So that is about it.... in this post..... Will be back with my ATCs I made for the month of June.....

RAINY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Hello! I am sorry for the delay in posting my US shipment.... I will soon do.... I kinda held up with my chores, which weighs heavier in my priority list.... ;) Hence the delay..... But now I am here for a quickie..... I made this as I wanted to attempt one of this kind, an aperture card & with those lovely colors to combine with..... I loved the way it turned....

The aperture is handmade of course.... Hence it might not be as appreciative as the die cut or punched ones.... But cannot help it.... Can I? So I tried bringing out the best of my ability in creating it for the first time..... I enjoyed making it.... & I would create more projects similarly.... :)

I hand cut the clouds & colored them with blue pigment ink....
The Image is from Sliekje Digi Designs, which I colored with my Faber Castell water color pencils......
Handmade button out of orange DP....
A regular white string colored in orange tied to a bow.....
Cut out the aperture with my paper cutting knife.....
Adhered 2 rhinestones in dark blue.....
Highlighted clouds, aperture window & rain drops with my blue glitter pens....
Birthday Wishes stamp from Kolette Hall & Faber Castell Ink in Blue.....
Hand Written sentiment in the hand cut cloud bubble...... Hmmm!!!!
