TCC {OCTOBER PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE- 4}!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Has been an awesome day yesterday..... Kuku's back home for Diwali, lots of wishes from friends & family, lots of home cooked goodies {again from friends & family;)} , few guests to celebrate with..... etc., etc., My life feels just worth all the fun!

Today is supposed to be The Chota Diwali (Small Diwali)! So wishing everyone, once again... A very HAPPY DIWALI!!!

Fourth week of the month & it's time for the disclosure of the last & final twist to the TCC's October Progressive Challenge!

Crafty Creations Challenges for their Challenge 141.....

THE PREP:

{TOPPER}

Chocolate Brown CS for the base, from Fabriano....
Orange, white & Yellow CSs for the layers.....
A kind of Gate Fold card.... Just folded the card front halfway in the opposite direction.....
Topped it with few layers which are nestability die cuts (Scalloped Oval, Plain Oval {which I've punched out further to shape it into a frame} & Scalloped Circle)
Sentiment on the top is from Fiskars, Birthday!
Heat Embossed it in white & completed the topper with some white gemstones from stash....
Punched out a butterfly with the punch from Itsy Bitsy.... and added some bling....

{INSIDE}

Stamped the image from Woodland (Stampabilities) with clear embossing ink.....
Heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.....
To let the embossing show on the white BG, sponged some ink around, to give it the FEEL OF FALL!!!! {This is the card, where I initially sponged the ink all over as in the emboss resist technique & my hubby did not quite like it..... In order to show him the image after it was heat embossed, I had sponged the ink only to cover the image, which he liked & later filled it up completely, which he disliked & asked me to stick onto what I did earlier} And that was when I had to redo the entire thing on the other side & pasted the completely inked surface down.... That gave birth to this technique of just highlighting the heat embossed part on the project..... May be I would call it, Partially Highlighted Emboss Resist Technique!!!
Have used Walnut Distress Ink on the lower part of the image, Memento Dew Drops to cover the tree & leaves & a little pink from Pretty Color on the outer portion of the entire image to just give it a slight dimension.....
Pierced holes to give the layer a bordered look....
Stamped the sentiment from Make a Wish Quotes from Fiskars....


Have not done much on the card as such, as I did not want the focal points to be interrupted with unnecessary interferences..... :D

STAMPING WITH CLEAR BLOCK in a JIFFY!!!

Heya! As the title suggests, that technique was on my mind ever since I checked that out on Piali's blog regarding her challenge on Yvonne's Blog.... But it slipped out of my mind... But thanks to the conversations with Tejal, today morning & I had to bounce off with my creation ASAP!!!

So here I am with a jiffy creation..... :p

Ink used is Memento Rich Cocoa (RAK from B)
Sentiment is from Close To My Heart.... {Wet embossed the sentiment....}
Just added some gemstones in white on alternate dots on the image.....

ICRC11 {EASEL CARD + INCORPORATE BASIC SHAPES}!!!

Yup! Back again.... :D

Starting this October, we have Monthly Challenges on ICR..... And that made me think that I can escape ICR for a while & sit down to think about everything else that falls under the category of 'OTHERS'..... But have not succeeded in achieving it so far..... Hopefully sometime in near future.... Keeping Fingers Crossed!!!
Well, getting back to where we started from... ICR Challenges!!!

Beginning this October, we started afresh with so many NEW things on board.....

Firstly, the transition of bi-weekly to monthly challenge.....
Secondly, we started with our new DT on board.....
Lastly, which is the FOCUS, of this post..... We have a NEW challenge & for the first time we have a FUN FOLD for it..... :D

The Challenge was put forward to us by our very own Sudha Kalra...... And we have all had an awesome & fun time so far working on it.... Thank You Sudha for daring us with it..... :)

The Prep:

I wanted to make it different from the usual easel cards... Hence opted for the sleek look..... {Remembering the days of how I used to be.. ;) }

Chocolate Chip CS from SU! for the Easel base.... cut with Rectangle Nestabilities Die....
Fabriano CSs in Read & Off White for the paneled layers....
Layered DPs are RAKs from B.....
Nestabilities Dies for the shaped layers..... (Label & Fancy Tags)
Played with ink by sponging them around on the die cut oval panel.....
Later Stamped the love bird stamp which was a RAK from B..... (I love it way too much)
Later paper pieced the birds & the flowers with pop dots for dimensions.....
Bordered the focal layer with the fancy tag die cut....
Pierced all around on the creation to give it finished edges....
Sentiment is a clear Stamp, which was again a RAK.....
And at the end threw in a dash of gemstones to give the creation a dimension......

Well! Well! That is pretty much on this post..... Off to go relax..... :O

TCC {OCTOBER PROGRESSIVE CHALLENGE}!!!

Heya! It is a new month... It is already the October of 2011.... Phew!!!!

And as you know at The Crafter's Cafe (TCC), it is time for a fresh set of Progressive Challenges!!! The THEME is the season 'FALL' :)

To begin with, for our first week, all we want to see, are simply FALL PROJECTS!!!

And before I can go ahead with my inspiration for the challenge, lemme just introduce you to our sponsors....

So here is my inspiration for the FALL themed challenge..... :D

Aah! It was a created in a jiffy as I was running late to the show.... Nevertheless, gave it my best with what I could see lying on my work desk.... ;)

After all the creating fun, it would not be complete without being sent to places where it should belong...... :O

The Prep:

Red CS from Fabriano for the base.....
White CS from Fabriano for the layer.....
Just dragged the memento inkpad in Cocoa to form the base of the tree....
And then ran some color pencils in white & brown over it to complete the bark of the tree.... (in order to give it a weathered look)
Stamped the flowers repeatedly to cover 3/4th of the card topper..... (I enjoyed stamping it randomly)
Pierced holes on the upper right corner, to give it a dimension.....
Added a sentiment to complete the card....
Floral image & the sentiment are both from Technique Tuesday!
