ICRC23 {PAPER QUILTING + DIWALI CREATION!}

Hello All!!!

Almost clinging on to the last few breaths the year 2012 is breathing..... And it makes me nervous to realize we are about to lose yet another year of LOVE, CARE, LOSS, DISTANCE & many many 'such strong EMOTIONS' that the year has BLESSED or LEFT us with....... 

The Year means many such emotions to all of us & I have kinda started developing an abstract feel towards 2012, where it is personifying itself to me.... Main reason may be that I moved home from Bangalore to Ranchi.... FAR from my parents but NEAR to my in Laws.... OMG! It is true.... Tears glazed my eyes as I punched these words...... Aaah! I get it.... 

Okay! Good to go now......

So with November rolling in, we have another "OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE" task with ICRC23..... And all thanks to Bhavana Kesarkar who raked up this idea without which I would have NEVER EVER attempted this bizarre Paper Crafting Method!

Let's see if anyone else dittos me on that.....

So here goes the Challenge Deets for you..... :D

And here is my inspiration for the same.....


I would like to thank Fab Friday for the simple sketch which helped me work my thoughts on this creation......




The Prep :

Choco Brown CS for the base from Fabriano.....

DP for the layer was a RAK from B.... Just rounded the corners on their opposite sides.....

DP in green was picked up from Landmark which I quite loved & finally found a nice way to use a lil of it..... :p

Traced the heart shape on 2 DPs & cut them out diagonally for diamond shapes..... Traced another heart on a CS for the base & glued the required pieces, all down on that base..... After which I ran my Jenome for the first time with the Zig Zag option which turned out quite neat.... And you know neatness makes me happy & proud......

Now that I did it once, DIL MAANGE MORE!!!

Added small rhinestones at all intersections to add the ZING THING to my project.....

Finally punched out the printed sentiment with SU! label punch.....

At the end something I felt amiss... hence doodled the dots for accented corners.....



That is it about my project..... :D

And I would also like to share that ICR is hosting the CELEBRATING CHILDHOOD EVENT 2012, for the kids of ICRians...... It has a lovely theme so very apt for the younger kids who get to proudly flaunt their innocent 'present career choice'..... So go ahead & get your kids to work on that as they celebrate their DAY on NOV 14th as CHILDRENS DAY!!!

There are many other events planned too..... Much to your liking's.... So do keep a watch @ ICR, & play on as to not let them pass.....

TCC {WEEKLY CHALLENGE - SKETCH CHALLENGE}!!!

Heelo!!! Back here with a new project made for The Crafter's Cafe!

But before I go ahead with the project I would like to tell ya something......

As I have ranted earlier, which I'm sure no one read other than a couple of crafters, regarding me not able to FOLLOW BLOGS, any more than 300, fortunately found a way still, to keep a track of the ones I love & the ones I wanna follow...... Though I'm unable to OFFICIALLY FOLLOW their blogs {for which I ought to delete few that I've been following}, I can still subscribe to you to FOLLOW YOUR WORKS...... Through Google Reader!!!

I'm so happy & content now.... That has helped me extend not only my knowledge but also has helped me to keep up with the works of my fellow crafters here in India..... :D I'm so so happy about that.....

I am in no way ARROGANT or ANTAGONISTIC! I just had my issues with my BLOGGER SERVICE... :(

Tejal had lemme know about Google Reader, long long ago..... But for me the kind of a person I am, who abides by a "PATTERN", Until I find a way out, myself, it becomes hard for me to just follow something.... I am able to do it only when I KNOW IT!

May be it is not that very nice, but that's how God has made me to be.... :D

I made into a photo album.... slight variation to a regular 2 fold card......

Dark Pink CS from Fabriano for the base & layered panel.....
Light Pink CS from Fabriano for the framed panel.....
White CS from Fabriano to mat the DP from Making Memories which was a RAK from B....
The dark pink & light pink DPs are from Echo Park Be Mine Collection.....
Sewed around on the panel.....
Colored the Smoochie digi image from TSB with Bic Markers.....
Paper Pieced the window shutters & her lengthy locks....
Sentiment is a sticker from Landmark.....
Button, bling & golden twine from stash.....
Paper Roses from stash.....
Pink Pearls on the flap was a RAK from B....

INSIDE :

Negative of the spellbinders to frame the picture...... So that makes it a card but not a card creation..... :D

I was so impressed with something new I tried... Variation to the regular card base with an addition of an album space on the inside.... Can be gifted to friends & family with a picture..... How Cute!!!! Impressive!!!
